THE PROJECT

DESCRIPTION

The “GRANO SINIS SARDO SOLE – GRANO DEL SINIS ”project focuses on the development of a short supply chain for ancient grains grown in the Sinis LAG territory, with the aim of bringing producers and consumers together in a direct and sustainable relationship. The short supply chain involves the reduction of intermediaries, allowing consumers to access high quality products through local markets, direct outlets and the involvement of the Ho.Re.Ca. sector (Hotels, Restaurants and Catering). This system is designed to meet the needs of the area, enhancing local production, protecting the environment and creating a strong link between the community and the agricultural heritage of Sinis.

OBJECTIVES

The main objective of the project is to strengthen collaboration among the different players in the wheat supply chain, such as producers, processors and local stakeholders, to create an integrated system that manages all stages, from production to sale, in a coordinated way. The project aims to enhance the value of local ancient grains and cereal productions in Sinis by promoting them through direct and short supply chain sales channels.
Another key objective is to meet the needs of residents and tourists, promoting conscious consumption linked to the area. The initiative also aims to strengthen the identity of the Sinis brand, creating a link between local agriculture and cultural heritage, and to raise consumer awareness of the importance of seasonal, sustainable and quality production.

TECHNOLOGIES AND METHODOLOGIES

The project is developed through a collaborative and innovative approach, including:

  • Cooperation among producers: to improve planning of production activities and ensure a diverse and quality supply.
  • Introduction of advanced technologies: such as a product traceability app to ensure transparency and trust between producers and consumers.
  • Promotional and informational events: to raise awareness among end consumers and representatives of the Ho.Re.Ca. sector about the importance of short supply chains.
  • Territorial marketing initiatives: aimed at promoting the link between local agricultural production and the historical, cultural and natural heritage of Sinis.
  • Traceability system: based on innovative technologies such as blockchain or smart contracts, to ensure a direct and secure connection between producers and consumers.

Lifely, as a supplier to the project, will be responsible for the implementation of the traceability app and the development of the traceability system itself, helping to make the project technologically advanced and reliable for consumers.

MISSION AND IMPACT

The project’s mission is to build a robust and self-sufficient short supply chain that enhances local cereal production, guaranteeing consumers healthy, quality products that are closely linked to the land. Through cooperation between producers and stakeholders, the project aims to preserve and promote the cultural, environmental and economic value of Sinis. Impact:

  1. Economic: growth of local income through increased productivity and direct marketing.
  2. Environmental: preservation of the agricultural landscape and promotion of sustainable practices.
  3. Social: creating a network of trust between producers and consumers, raising awareness of the value of local produce and involving the community in responsible consumption.
  4. Cultural: promotion of the historical heritage and traditions related to cereal farming in Sinis, fostering a strong sense of belonging to the area.
